Records, 1925-1994.

Documents the activities of the Extension Forester in various projects and associations. The most extensive projects includes the North Dakota Centennial Decade Windbreak Program (1989-1994); the tree claims project to document trees still existing from original tree claims; the Windbreak Planting Program (1935-1942); and the Youth Centennial Tree project (1989). Through involvement in several state and regional organizations, there are some records of the Great Plains Riparian Forest Management Task Force of the Great Plains Agricultural Council (1990-1993); North Dakota Association of Soil Conservation Districts (1989-1993); the Centennial Decade Trees Committee (1989-1991) of the North Dakota Centennial Commission; and of the North Dakota State Farm Forestry Committee (1943-1994). There are also a number of publications including the looseleaf "Tree planting handbook for the Dakotas;" general office correspondence (1936-1985); and historical works on forestry in North Dakota.

The Centennial Decade Trees Commission (CDTC) was formed in the late 1980s by the Centennial Commission. The committee consisted of seven members who met annually, six of whom were appointed by the governor. The mission of the CDTC was to increase tree planting in North Dakota. The committee administered the Centennial Trees Trust Fund, with the ultimate goal of planting 100 million trees by 2000.
